I won't go into many of the details.-----Some pumps / impellers are of a better design.------Water temperature of the river comes into the decision making.------This 1972 model 20 hp also does not have a warning horn or a shut off should it overheat !!-----New impellers are CHEAP.

Thanks guys for the input. I will hopefully be able to putz with the motor this weekend. But with how busy I am at work, it might be hard to do. I'll try and get some answers as soon as I can and report back. Appreciate the help.
