20hp fourstroke no start after heavy rain

my new 20hp fourstroke kicker didn't want to trim down or turnover today when I went to use it for its 5th trip (less than 20 hours on it)

it has remote controls, power tilt and electric start.

I have a hose that I run all the wiring thru the stern (corrugated plastic hose for rigging)
the engine harness connector that connects to the remote throttle is inside that hose.

5 days of rain and that hose filled up with water, probably getting inside the 8-pin connector

the battery has a full charge, and is not affected (luckily it didn't short)

other than getting to that connector and drying it out, where should I look under that cowl? is there a fusebox in there?

has anyone seen this same issue in another thread?

Not sure of location of fuses, but sure sounds like you blew one! Check to see if you are getting 12v to the remote starter wire at the starter solenoid.

What year is this motor?

the motor is a 2007, but its only use before I purchased was a spring tuneup at the dealership every year.

the motor was for emergencies only and never emerged from its weather cover except for maintenance.

You got a serial number? Did you check to see if you are getting 12v to your solenoid when someone turns the key?

fuse was burnt.

unfortunately the connector got wet and melted.

I removed the 3ft harness coming from the motor and fed the remote wire into the engine after cutting off the melted connector.

I just need 10 bullet connectors and a pinout of the 2 connectors, as the colors are not the same

I will cut off the engine end of the 84-892473A01 harness and splice the wires with butt connectors.
