News and Notes
- Both series will practice and qualify at Road America.
- Nascar is ending iRacing Pro Invitational Series for the rest of 2021. Fan and industry interest has waned with a normal racing schedule with fan attendance.
- Chase Elliott is the betting favorite to win on the Road America road course.
- JR Motorsports may be moving up to Cup after Jr. avowed to stay in the X-Series. With the vendor supplied NextGen car coming next year, X-Cars will be more expensive to build and field. JRM is looking into the market to buy some Cup charters - Maybe.
- Pocono Penalties - 4 in Cup for loose lugnuts and 2 with loose X-Nuts.
- Race two of the NASCAR Cup Series doubleheader at Pocono averaged a 1.5 rating and 2.45 million viewers on NBCSN Sunday afternoon, down a tick in ratings and 8% in viewership from last year on FS1 (1.6, 2.66M). Race one on Saturday had just a 0.9 and 1.45 million, down 45% and 44% respectively from last year on FOX (1.6, 2.57M) and the least-watched Cup Series race on any network since at least 2000 (excludes rainouts and makeup races).
- With the Pocono double races, we have two three time winners.
- justkiddin 5 won the Saturday race. A close 1 point victory. Congrats, JK5.
- On Sunday it was Jip's turn to scoop up the marbles. Atta boy.
- FlaCowboy is runnin' away with the overall lead.
- iFL rosters lock at 2:25 PM after qualifying on the 4th of July.
Good luck and have a safe 4th,
