2021 Nascar - New Hampshire, Race 22

With only 5 races left in the regular season, Cup and X-Men will be in New Hampshire this weekend while Trucks are on an extended vacation until next Month. SRX is racing in Nashville tonight, with Chase Elliott joining his dad, Awesome Bill, to close out the SRX reason.

Rain may put a damper on New Hampshire racing action today and tomorrow. Possibility for the Nashville SRX race this evening.

• TWT and Truex are starting on the front row Sunday.
• Silly Season;
  • Matt DiBenedetto is out at Wood Bros. at the end of the season. Harrison Burton will take over for 2022.
  • Keso is leaving Penske at the end of the season. The reported reason is he had no chance at partial ownership. Austin Cindric will pilot the #2 next year.
  • Keso has been mum on his plans for next year and beyond, but Jayski is saying he is going to Roush Fenway with partial ownership. Time will tell.
• Atlanta penalties - 4 loose nuts in Cup and a pair with loose X-Nuts.
• TV Ratings -
  • 1.47 rating Cup Series race at Atlanta was watched by 2.513 million people.
  • Saturday’s Xfinity Series race had 1.121 million viewers with a 0.62 rating,
  • Truck Series at Knoxville had 594,000 people watching for a 0.36 rating..

• Jip squeezed out a 1 point victory to win at Atlanta. This was his 3rd win of the year. Congrats, Jip.

Restart after the comp. caution and the leaders didn't get a clean restart. The field accordioned from front to back. Some bad damage!

Involved in that wreck were Herbst Mayer Massey Jones Moffitt.

Mayer is done for the day.

Back to green. A much better restart this time. The Dinger is the leader with 10 to go in the 1st heat.

After the white flag was out, Bell was passing The Dinger for the lead. He was barely in front when cars started eating the wall. The heat finished under caution.

Chase Elliott won over Smoke and Awesome Bill, winning the season-ending SRX race. Stewart is the overall champ in the first season of SRX. I hope it returns.

Side note - Paul Tracy finished the race and only took Marco Andretti out of the race.

iFL locks at 3:10. The dart tossers say the worst of the rain is over.

Not bad at all. They usually keep a handle on it. Used to go to Cedar Lake Speedway, east in WI, when we lived in Mpls. Had to wear googles it was so dusty. But they have fantastic racing...
