• Aric Almirola has a contract extension to drive the #10 in 2021. Smithfield Foods extended as well.
• The playoff drivers fill the first 16 starting spots in the new playoff "qualifying" scheme
• Elliott is on the pole
• The Southern 500 at Darlington means most teams will be using throwback paint schemes, some are very good, some are blah. See for yourself tomorrow.
• Nascar held a news conference about next year. No 2021 schedule except that Nashville will be on the schedule.
• TV ratings - Coke 400 earned a 2.41 rating/nearly 3.9 million viewers. Nothing to compare to.

Hamlin wins the 1st heat after starting at the rear.

Briscoe was 1st out of the pits and leads the 2nd heat restart. Hamlin had a slow pit stop and came out 11th. He's up to 6th 12 laps into the heat.

Hamlin takes the lead on lap 83, recovering from his slow pit stop.

With one to go in the heat, yellow flies and Hamlin wins it under yellow. Gragson and Bean caused the caution.
