This is a tough place for drivers facing elimination. Both Cup and X-Men races will cut the bottom drivers in the playoffs. Lookin' at TWT - He isn't much of a road racer and he is 21 points below the cut line

Since we're on a road course with wipers and rain tires, rain isn't a problem. But lightning may cause delays and T-storms are forecast through Sunday. YUCK! The schedule from MRN;

Boy is it raining at Charlotte. 2 cautions so far. 20 laps in the 1st heat with 3 to go.

On lap 3, something broke off of Moffit's car. During the yellow, They all switched over to rain tires.

On lap 3, a bunch of cars spun out. Race leader Gragson spun and a mess more went spinning and not really related to Gragson. Water is running heavily across the track in many spots. Also if a car gets into the soaking wet grass with puddles in the grassy areas, instant spin. They need off road tires, not rain tires. :eek:

These guys have no traction at all! Looks like winter driving up north!

Kaz Grala slipped and slid to win the first heat.

Gragson leading and #18 spins him out into the tire barrier. TWT is not in the #18!

Yellow is for Ware into the wall just before.

Been red for a while. The fools are sweeping and blowing running water off the track. The rain has slowed a wee bit, but water will run for a while

Back to racing and drivers pile up again. They need to shut it down..... Way too much rain, no grip whatsoever....

Briscoe won heat #2.
In the first 11 laps in heat #3, 1 more caution so far for a car stalled on the track.

And I lost my local NBC race coverage because the weather folks are on because of Delta causing tornadoes and warnings around Atlanta.

Thanks, Musky. This race started crazy and went down hill! Every time they go through a puddle, the car hydoplanes. The Dinger is the leader.

You could get a bunch of rain..... Still probably less than has dumped on the track....

Restart and Briscoe and The Dinger were side by side half way around the track. The Dinger is leading with 5 to go.
