A last Cup playoff race for 4 drivers Saturday night, a first playoff race for Trucks tonight and a last regular season race for X-Men Friday night.

In the Cup playoffs - Bryon, Custer, Matt D and Blaney are below the cut line. Harvick and Keso won during the round of 12 and Hamlin clinched a next round spot on points. The rest of the 13 drivers all have a chance to fall below the 12th and final advancement spot. Joey needs only 6 points to advance, but anything can happen at Bristol.

Jayski asked - "Who wins tonight - Tropical Storm Sally or 1 of these 38 Trucks?" A chance of Sally raining on the parade tapers off through evening until about 11PM. Friday is cloudy with a 20% chance of precip and Saturday looks decent. Subject to change without notice if Sally turns out to be fickle.

From MRN, the race schedule;

News and Notes
  • Bubba Wallace is leaving Petty, Matt Kenseth is out of the #42 at the end of the year, Daniel Suarez, Corey LaJoie and Eric Jones are free agents and it looks like Ty Dillon's team has no sponsor and may go on sale. As Pete Pistone's MRN titled "Sillier Season" ends "it’s 2020"
  • Geico is dropping Germain Racing sponsorship and Germain is for sale. Is Geico saving 15% or more? Denny Hamlin and others are in the mix to buy Germain.
  • Keso and Joey start on the front row Saturday.
  • Richmond penalties - Only 4 for lugnuts - Cup with 2 , X-Nuts had 1 and Trucks with 1.
  • Nascar Gander RV and Camping Truck series is no more. Series sponsor is going back to Nascar Camping World Truck series. So old is new again.
  • TV ratings - Richmond got a 0.25 - That sounds more like a good PSA number. Only 1.738M viewers Pitiful!

iBoats Fantasy Live
  • Our 2nd iFL playoff winner is Vega Kid, his 2nd win of the year. :first: Congrats, Kid.
  • FlaCowboy is still leading the overall standings, but it's getting tight on top.
  • iFL rosters lock at 7:40 EST Saturday evening.

Good luck and stay safe,

Humpty

Green for heat 2 with Ankrum leading, he didn't pit.

That heat whizzed by and Ankrum won it for his first ever heat win. And promptly blew it by missing the call to pit with the leaders and came in a lap later, he's restarting in 16th.

X-Men pre-race underway. 7:00 is the wave off time.

Also an interesting tidbit I saw today - There are discussions convert Bristol to a dirt surface for some races in the coming years. In 2000 and 2001 it was dirt for World Of Outlaws. That's all I know.

From last night - #45 of Bayne was DQ'ed for failing ride height found during post-race inspection.

Warmup laps have begun.

Allgaier led them off and on lap 3 Chastain took the lead.

Chastain kept the lead to the comp. caution. Leaders have stayed out, so Chastain will lead from the restart flag and Allgaier beside him.

Caution, red flag for cleanup. Earnhardt spun McLeod and a few more cars collected.

Quick red, back to yellow with 15 to go in the heat.
