2019 Nascar - Trucks In The Dirt and Cup Goes Left And Right

Trucks are going Off-Roading tonight. Well, off pavement onto dirt at Eldora. The one and only Nascar national series race on dirt. Last year the track made a lot of mud and caused problems for some of the teams. With the regular season winding down with only one Truck regular season race after tonight, drivers on the outside will be trying punch a ticket into the playoffs. Here is tonight's card from MRN;

• On No Smoke! According to TMZ, Tony Stewart chased after and punched a heckler in the jaw Friday night. They don't say which Friday night, but they have video. It is TMZ after all!
• Searching for the new Chad Knaus - Jimmie Johnson gets a new crew chief. #8 isn't looking like it's gonna happen this year. 17th in the standings, no wins, and 12 points outside a playoff spot with five races left in the regular season. But 1 win will put him in.
• Something is missing at Watkins Glen this year. Don't see any what they call road course specialists on the entry list. Is money tight for the lower teams that used to bring them in?
• SMI - Bruton Smith's majority owned track consortium saw drops in attendance revenue and operations of 7.4% and 2.46%. TV profit was $94M. Is TV keeping Nascar afloat?
• TV ratings - 1.6 overnight for Pocono, down from a 1.8 for last year's race. Both Pocono Cup events in '19 saw overnight drops.

• iFL was a closer race that the race between Hamlin and Jones. justkiddin 5 scored a 1 point win over FlaCowboy on Sunday. this is his 3rd win this year. Congrats, JK5. :first:
• JK5 is still the overall points leader, adding that 1 point over FlaCowboy.
• Pole locks at 6:35 PM Saturday. This is an impound race. so Saturday's qualifying results are provisional and the final lineup will after inspection Sunday. Last week moved a good number of cars to the back.

First 10 lap heat won by Briscoe. The top 5 will transfer to the main race. Those not transferring will run in a 15 lap Last Chance race with the top 2 transferring to the main event.

Heat 2 won by Crafton. First 2 races were caution free and 10 laps goes by quick!

Heat 3 red flagged for 2 spinners. No yellow cuz only green flag laps count and when they go back to racing 2 laps to go.

And Moffit wins the 3rd heat. 2 heats to go before the Last Chance race.

5th heat lasted a lap when a truck died on the track and the red flag waved.

Strickler wins heat 5. The Last Chance race is next. The top 2 trucks will go to the main race and start in the back.

Last Chance was green for 2 laps when Self spins.

Green for two more laps when Self spins again. He was trying to get back up front and pushed it.
