It's the once a year long, long, long Sunday. Indy 500 coverage begins on NBC with the prerace at 11 AM and finishes up at 10:30Pm on Fox for the end of the Coke 600.
No Indy car or Nascar driver will be taking a 1100 mile Sunday drive this year or as it's called - Double Duty. Tony Stewart is the only driver managing to complete both races, finishing 6th at Indy and 3rd at Charlotte in 2001. Kurt Busch was the last to try in 2014, finishing 6th at Indy but crashing out of the Coke 600. Robby Gordon tried 5 times and finished both races in 2002, but he finished a lap down at Charlotte and was 1 lap short of 1100 miles.
40 teams are on Cup entry list for qualifying tomorrow. Rain chances are relatively light with the heaviest Saturday over night and ending by early afternoon Sunday. It shouldn't impact the race, Here's MRN's schedule;

I have no idea why Friday is an off day. I thought Nascar was all about cutting team costs and an extra day of team road expense makes no sense.

News and Notes
- Kansas pemalties - Only a couple of cars with loose or missing nuts.
- ISC, the France family owned race track group will be bought by Nascar. Of note, former CEO and chairman of Nascar Brian France, will be bought out and will have no part of Nascar going forward. He was arrested and charged with DUI and possession last August. In February he was removed (kicked out) and the buyout cuts his last tie to Nascar.
- 2020 Hall of Fame inductees will be Joe Gibbs, Bobby Labonte, Wadell Wilson, Buddy Baker and Smoke - Tony Stewart.
- DC Solar, a primary sponsor of Kyle Larson before shutting after the Feds charged the owners with running a Ponzi scheme back in March, bilked Warren Buffet out of $340M. I think he can afford it, but still, even the smart guys get burned.
- TV ratings - Kansas viewership was up a bit from last year, no idea on the rating. The All-Star race was 1.3, down from 1.5 last year.
- Is this getting old or what? Jip won his third race in a row and no ties this week! Humpty may have to borrow from Jip since he has 3 of these :first: and can spare 1 or 2. LOL Congrats, Jip.
- Justkiddin 5 has a good hold on 1st place in our league.
- The Cup pole locks a 7:00 PM tomorrow.
Taking extra naps getting ready for Sunday,
Humpty.
