Starting with Cup, X-Men and Truck in action at Dover this weekend, Nascar has made changes to qualifying for all 3 series. Group qualifying is dead and single car Q-ing for ovals is back. Road courses will continue to qualify using the group format. Tracks shorter than 1.25 miles will have two stages with the top 12 in the final round. Longer track over 1.25 miles will be a single run.
The idea behind group qualifying was to add some excitement to watching paint dry. And watching paint dry is what group Q-ing became with the final 12 car round ending up watching 12 cars sit until the last possible second to make a run. They coulda made it work if they used their heads for more than figuring out how to slow down the cars.
Cup has 37 teams on the entry list for a weekend that may have rain delays. The forecast is for possible soggy racing. :blue:

News and Notes
- After Nascar took ADillon's trunk lid last week, he loses 10 points, his car chief is suspended for a week and his crew chief Danny Stockman got a $25k fine.
- Nascar teams are asking Nascar and tracks to help pay for the major expense of switching to the new Gen 7 car, an unusual move that signals teams still believe the sport’s revenue distribution favors Nascar/track and teams aren't getting a fair share.
- A fun tweet stream from Talladega - Things left behind. Some odd leavings by Dega race fans - https://twitter.com/i/moments/1122968563449462785
- TV ratings - Fox got a 2.8, about the same as last year for Dega. The Dover race is on FS1, so ratings will probably drop.

- Good News! No tie at Talladega. Jip has the honors and has one of these shiny things. :first: Congrats, Jip.
- Justkiddin 5 is still the overall lead by 21 points
- The iFL pole locks tomorrow at 3:35 PM Eastern.
Good luck everyone,
Humpty
