One career is ending and two more may be finished;
  • Darrell Waltrip is retiring from Fox after 19 years in the booth - No more Boogity, Boogity after start of the June race at Sonoma when Fox has their last race of the year.
  • Spenser Gallagher and Austin Wayne Self have been suspended indefinitely for failed drug tests.

On to the race - Cup and X-Men are hitting the track at Bristol. Trucks don't go again until May. This weekend may be soggy. :blue: I hope not cuz they don't use the rain package on ovals. The Cup entry list has 38 teams on the list.

News and Notes
  • Nascar has released the 2020 schedule for X-Men and Trucks. X-Men return to Martinsville for the first time since 2006 and have only raced there in 2006 - One race in 25 years. Martinsville swapped a Truck race to Richmond for the X-race. The last time Trucked raced Richmond was 2005.
  • Tyler Reddick's X-Car will feature Dolly Parton. Extra large fenders flares? <- Sick and sexist - I know.
  • Momster will not be the Cup title sponsor after this year. Haven't heard who or if Nascar has found a sponsor for 2020. There may not be a single series sponsor. So instead of all past references to sponsors getting the axe as in Richard Petty being called the leading Monster Energy Nascar Cup Series or MENCS, will 2020 have Moon Pie-RC Cola-Waffle House race winners? It should be be referred to as Nascar Cuo Series or NCS as the past, the current and the future naming convention. It always irks me when they call Petty or Earnhardt past MENCS champs when they never turned a wheel in that series.
  • This X-Race is the first in the Dash For Cash series and is for the next four races starting this weekend.
  • Cup drivers are banned for the Dash races. Sorry Twerp, you have to wait a while to continue the quest for X-Win #100. Should that be Busch (probably) or Nationwide Dash For Cash?
  • Nascar may return to single car Cup qualifying on drafting track. The drivers and teams are moaning about something they brought on themselves making a mockery of qualifying at Vegas, Fontana and Texas. Teams are resisting because they set cars up and use special equipment/parts for qualifying. That's why Q-Speeds are always higher than practice and race speeds. So the team costs are higher because of the extra parts, etc. Drivers don't like the multi-rounds of qualifying and there is talk that they are trying to torpedo it. Simple fix Nascar - All races are impound races. Every car starts the way they qualified - Same tires, same fuel load, same tweaks, same "special: parts. I mean shouldn't the race and qualifying trim be the same? What are all these inspections with multi-million dollar test gear for?
  • TV ratings - Texas got a 2.3, last year was on FS1 for 1.7, so direct comparison and 2017 on Fox got a 2.5.

iBoats Fantasy Live
  • The Squirrel won a race.
  • justkiddin 5 is leading the points
  • Qualifying locks tomorrow at 6:05PM

Today's one and only Cup practice is over before qualifying. The the fastest are Blaney, Joey, Jones, Larson, Hamlin, Keso, Byron, Elliott, Busch1 and Bowyer.

Blaney's fast lap was 14.804 second or 129.614 MPH. Was he dizzy?

iFL pole locks at 6:05 for the 5 bonus points. Rain has moved out, so there should be qualifying runs.

So Humpty picked Blaney for the Pole and he led round 1 and 2. Five points in the bank. Yippee.

Then Elliott took the pole in the final round! :blue: The rest of the 12 top qualifiers are Byron, Blaney, Jones, Hamlin, Almirola, Joey, Bowyer, Menard, Johnson, Newman and Keso.

Cut off for setting your rosters is 2:05 PM on Sunday.

The end of the 1st X=Heat had some good racin' betweem Reddick and Allgaier. Reddick is in the Dash For Cash, Allgaier isn't. Allgaier won the heat.

And an oooops - Reddick was told the stage was ending before it was. He lost the lead on the 2nd from end lap.

Allgaier wins heat 2. Only 12 finished the heat on the lead lap.

Nascar Sprung Forward and the start of the race is now 2PM. It rained overnight, had on and off drizzles and rain bands may be moving through. Preese moved to his backup car and is starting at the rear.

Get your picks locked in, guys.

Heats are 125-125-250 laps. Blaney set a track record during qualifying.

There are a lot of empty seats with Bristol's new Spring strategy to sell less seats.

Pole sitter Elliott scraped the wall during final practice. Car is repaired and it's Bristol, so it will be dinged up before the end.

Green flag!

Even the grandstand seats they sold are pretty empty.

Wow! Stenhouse spun right in front of leader Elliott and the #9 spins and barely marks the rt. front fender on the inside wall!

With an almost 2 second lead, he pitted in 2nd place. We're at lap 42 under yellow.

So excited and it was Preese spinning in front of Elliott, Stenhouse.

Restart leader is Jones. No power steering says Elliott.
