I have a 2018 Mercury 60hp outboard. The low pressure fuel pump was not working. As I removed the old pump, the plunger and spring fell out. I was able to retrieve those from inside the engine but I assume there is a pin in there that was supposed to hold all that together. I am assuming that had fallen out causing the issue with the fuel pump. It looks like the new pump has that redesigned so I am guessing that is a known problem. Has anyone heard of this happening before and more importantly, should I be worries about that pin bouncing around inside my engine? Thanks!
