2017 Suzuki 9.9 remote control; key won't activate starter; starts with rope

2017 Suzuki EFI 9.9 remote control engine.

Key will not activate starter, but if key is in "run" position, engine starts with rope and runs fine.
Battery is fully charged. Cables connections are tight.

Can someone give me an idea of where to start troubleshooting?

Try to jump the starter(with key in run position) if it starts check switch/wiring/connections
