Hello I bought a brand new Tohatsu md50 TLDI in July 2016 it has around 30 hours on it and I am having a shut down issue and I cannot figure it out. I will be running the motor wide open at around 5600 rpms and all of the sudden the motor just shuts down unexpectedly, no lights, beeps, or limp mode. It is not like it is loosing fuel either it doesn't spit and sputter... The motor has a new 1000cca battery, clean terminals, new 93 octane fuel, and the recommended oil. I do not get a code thrown or anything it just shuts off like you turned the key off. As soon as it dies you can bump the key and it fires right back up and you can continue on your way. It does not happen every time I am out on the water probably about every other time. I am stumped, has anyone else experienced a problem like this? Thank you and God Bless.

Unless you put the motor into diag mode, you do not know whether any codes were logged. Sounds like an electrical issue. You are in warranty. See your dealer.

Do you have new tank and gas lines could be that damn anti-siphon valve. I had many many hours of T-shooting before I checked this and sure as shinola.

Tohatsu has not used fuel demand valves in years, since upgrading fuel connectors. They never used any antisiphon valves.
