Less than 75 hrs on this. I baby the fuel - always fresh, full tank, and non ethanol, add some Seafoam to every tank. It has 2 fuel filters and a water separator.
Here is one problem -- If I turn the idle up when its cold it will start - although stays at a low rpm barely running and then after awhile will rev up to warm up rpm, This way though then the idle is too high. If I turn the idle down, it will turn over a few times but not catch when its cold.
Another problem - I can run it a long time, shut it off, and 10 minutes later it turns over but wont catch. I have to use starter fluid. If I take the hood off at sea I cant reach all the way back to lock it on - it sucks. That may be float valve?
Does the carb need cleaned? It was cleaned about 30 hours ago. I wonder about the computer chip that controls the choke. I did finally order the shop manual
Awhile ago it was the float valve sticking. Maybe its doing that now and then?? But that doesnt explain it not catching at a normal idle setting?
I am not that handy and its on a sailboat in the water - hard to work on. Is there another carb adjustment I can make besides the idle screw? A buddy who knows alot said there should be a linkage adjustment too. THANKS!!
