Hello,
I recently dropped the lower unit on my 2015 115hp (2.1l) to test for water intrusion. It's the command thrust gearcase. I found a leak at the shift shaft but I'm struggling to remove the white plastic bushing, which I've already started to make a mess of.
Any tips on removal without doing damage to the shaft?
I put two screws in, one each side, and attempted to pull up with a small vice grip, one side at a time, but I can't get it to budge. It's almost like I need a dang slide hammer!
I've read some people will just pull up on the shift shaft to pull the bushing and shaft out. I attempted this by hand but it's not enough.
