I took my boat out for the first time in April. Launched, started fine, went up river, trolled for a bit. Went to start and the diagnostic beep sounded along with a long 5 second beep and the engine will not fire. I looked at the alarm codes and the long beep was listed as a few different causes; low oil, overheating, coolant system failure or voltage issues. We got towed in and trailered the boat. Out of curiosity I turned the key on in the parking lot and the diagnostic beep came on but did not fire an alarm sound. I turned the ignition over and the boat fired right up. Odd, I thought. I took it home and the following weekend I serviced the following: Low pressure fuel pump (took off tested pressure), changed oil and filter, changed lower unit lube, replaced thermostat, replaced both fuel filters, removed the lower unit and replaced impeller and had a buddy test my battery voltage. I thought after all that I would be back on the water with no issues. Fast forward to last night, We have a lake 2 miles from us and I wanted to crappie fish so me and the wife loaded up and took off. We get to the place where we were fishing I turned it off and turned it back on and no issues. We trolled for a bit and it was getting close to dark so we decided we wanted to get closer to the launch. I turned the key and got the same damn beep I had weeks ago and the engine would turn over but would not fire. I started trolling cause we were a ways from the launch. Luckily some kids found us about halfway across and towed us the rest of the way. I got the boat home and in the garage and my curiosity had me again. I turned the key, no alarm and the boat fired right up. I'm not running it long enough to have an over heat issue but something is preventing it from starting in the water and I'm baffled. I fear my engine has been indoctrinated by some foreign entity, likely an alien, to forget it is a boat meant for water and only runs out of the water. In all seriousness I'm stumped. Any other suggestions before I pay for someone to run diagnostics? Thanks for any help.

All these new motors need to be scanned for codes. Your going to have a harder issue if when scanned it's not having the problem. Check your connects including the engine plug

Has this issue been solved? I have the exact same problem. I changed the water pump, oil & filter, fuel filters. Any new info? Thanks

It's best to start your own thread with your exact symptoms rather than exhume an old one.

See my recent experience, maybe it'll help. Different engine, but could bear similarities.
