While cruising around the lake my mercury alarm system sounded a long 6 second beep. I turned off the motor and lifted it to get the weeds that may have been tangled on the propeller, thinking that is why the beep sounded. I went to start my boat again, and it wouldn't start. Wouldn't even turn over. After attempting to start the motor, the 6 second continuous beep would sound again. I had to get a tow into shore. My brand new 50hp Mercury with 3 hrs shouldn't be doing this, please help. Each time the ignition turns to on, after the regular short beep from turning the key to "on" the long 6 second beep sounds again.
