140 hp Suzuki 4 stroke 2013 model.
The motor starts and runs fine then when I put it in gear it dies. The only way I can get it to go is start it and push the forward down fast once it gets over the slow speed range it runs fine. It sounds like it is running fine. If I slow down quickly it will immediately die. If I slow down very gradually it will stay running and what I noticed if slow very gradually it will stay running and now it runs very slow at 2 mph which it has never been able to run under 3.3 mph since I owned it since new.
So it seems the slow speed has been reduced somehow and so when I put it in gear it dies. After I run across the lake with it and slow down quickly it dies then when I try to start it will shut off and won't stay running even at idle so I have to start it and move the throttle very quickly to high speed before it dies.
So after it warms up it won't idle from a start. But it will run if I go fast then reduce the speed very gradual and it now runs extremely quiet and slower then before.
Things I have already tried with no improvement:
1) primer bulb replacement
2) fuel filter replacement
3) fuel cleaner (mercury cleaner #2 and Lucas engine cleaner and treatment)
Any ideas on what is wrong with my motor? Not sure what more I can do other then to bring it to the expensive dealer mechanic.
