Put a new battery in and I don't mind saying I may have been ignorant enough to perhaps reassemble wires incorrectly. If anyone knows the exact wiring, I'd be most appreciative. Most are obvious, but there's this one little brown one I find came off the positive side but might be a negative connection. I put a new battery on and it drained after approximately 8 hours of use. Any other battery advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

Hi there, Could you maybe post a photo of the wire? Have you tried following the wire to see where it goes yet?

Typically a brown wire going to the battery may be part of the automatic float switch to the bilge pump.

On thing you can do to check for a drain is, Have everything turned off and while in a shaded area, unhook all the wire/cables going to the + side of the battery. One by one, slowly tap each wire to the + side a few times, you should see no small spark. If you do see spark, start pulling fuses, etc. etc. one by one to turn off each suspected item in the boat until you get no more spark then go from there.;)

Of course, the boat being a 2012 shouldn't you still be under a warranty if you bought it brand new?:)

Hope this helps, Good luck.:)

Or use a meter set up to measure current, take off the battery lead and put the meter between the battery and the battery lead. it will tell you how much current draw there is. Then you can start pulling fuses to see which circuit has the draw on it. If after pulling all the fuses and you don't see any difference, remove the main lead off the alternator(after disconnecting battery again) and retest.
