I was hoping someone might have some insight into what I experienced today while I was on my way back to the marina.

WOT , in a channel when the engine suddenly died, with a clicking noice as it finally came to a stop. After it quit, it wouldn't turn over, although there was plenty of battery.
After I got it home, I flushed water through as I always do and it was able to turn over again and start. I checked the pee stream and it was good. It seems to idle just fine. I never heard any beeping or tones when it happened. Oil level seems fine also. I was adjusting the trim when it happened.

Thanks,

Andrew

No, I put in neutral after it died. I moved the throttle lever up and down a few times to make sure. Also checked the safety cord switch to make sure it didn't accidentally come off.

It was about an hour and a half before it would start. It wasn't until I got home and flushed it with fresh water from the hose before it was able to start.

I couldn't find any evidence of the water inlets getting plugged, but wondered if it might explain it.
