Hi all! I recently purchased a 2012 Glastron MX 185 and while installing a depth finder I noticed that there are no black wires. It looks to have a yellow wire designated for all of the grounds. Is this normal? I bought a Faria depth finder and the only 2 wires I need to hook up are purple and black. Purple is shown as the hot in the installation manual so I wired to another purple wire under the console. I checked online and I just want to make sure I am not bass ackwards on this! Also the tach is not accurate at all. I have the 4.3 MPI Merc so I set the dial on the back at the number 2 setting. I thought I did this the other day on the water but the max rpms would only read about 4000. I do have the correct prop I am told so is it the tach? When I turn the key without starting the tach slowly climbs until it is pegged. When the key is shut off it moves past pegged and goes back to zero. Turn the key, does it again. Do I need a new tach? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
