I have a 2015 Lowe 175 Stinger Aluminum boat. But I am kind of hesitant to haul it with my 2012 Ford Explorer V4. It hauls it well it is just the unloading and loading that kind of scares me. I don't want my truck to end up in the water too. Do y'all think it will be okay unloading and loading the boat on a ramp?

Do you have the I4 or the V6, with the 4 cyclinder it is rated for a 2000 towing pounds load. I assume it is a AWD? How much does your boat and trailer weigh? Looks like your boat weighs in at about 1000 pounds, then you have to add the weight of the engine, fuel load, trailer, gear, etc.

Engine: 2L Gasoline I4 and its FWD. The boat, trailer, and motor weights 1,600 pounds I believe. The boat itself weights 1000 pounds. Do you think I will have trouble at the ramps?

Is it a 4WD, 2WD or AWD, I believe they were pretty much all wheel drives in this year,

FWD would indicate Front Wheel Drive, but as long as you are under the towing capacity of the vehicle, I don't believe you would have trouble, now of course that depends on the ramp, if it is a steep ramp, that could make things a bit more difficult.

If it is under the limit I see nothing wrong with it. Go for it and enjoy the water! :)

Launch ramps are for launching and retrieving boats. No one should load, unload or prep their boat on the launch ramp. That is a basic rule of boating courtesy. If you are using the terms loading and unloading for launching and retrieving the boat then please ignore this.

I use a chey trax for towing a similar size and weight boat, ramps make a differance, steep ramps I back in so my tow vehicle is on an angle. Also, remember to use the parking brake.

1) Back in. 2) Set parking brake 3) then place transmission in park. When pulling out 1) place transmission in gear, 2) THEN release the parking brake. Why? You don't get the severe BANG as the parking pawl inside the transmission releases from the severe stress of holding the load of the vehicle, trailer and boat.
