I have 2011 90 hp merc oil injected carburated outboard.. After replacing a stator and trigger there is still no spark to two of the plugs the coils are good and have been switched around to the cylinder that works and the wiring harness checks out in between coils and trigger.. its at the dealer with over $1300 spent so far and no end in site. Any thoughts on whats up?

:welcome: aboard scott, glad you joined us...

Okay, seem you are having some real issues with the lack of spark. When you swapped the "good" sparking coil to one of the non-sparking coil position, did it work? And if no did you take a bad coil and place it in the good spark coil position and did it work? Reason I asked is I am trying to determine if all three coils are indeed good. And by swapping a non-sparking coil into the sparking coil position. it would prove the coil is working if it sparks too. And if all three coils are working then your problem is from whatever is feeding the three coils. There is no other issues then to test the power and ground to that module and see if it starts to work... If not, you still have a bad trigger or CDM module that feeds the three coils...no other explanation!

Motor has CDM;s not coils and one of them is bad...Use the CDI troubleshooting to test.

Last question...if the mechanic installed a new trigger and spark was restored to all cylinders and now its gone am I correct i thinking the cdm blew the trigger?
