2010 4.3MPI low oil pressure and sputtering like crazy.

My 4.3 MPI has recently started sputtering at about 3300 rpms. Just today i took it for a long run the sputtering cleared up, when i stopped i noticed the oil pressure went down to about 5psi. The alarm went off for low oil pressure and then shut the motor down. I then started it back up and was able to get back to the dock 30 miles away. When i got to the dock it did the same thing. I checked the oil and it is dark brown colored and may show a sign of water. I changed the oil and filter and the oil pressure seems to be ok but still sputtering real bad. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Check your engine oil. Is it over the full mark? If the oil level is too high the crankshaft will hit the oil, aerate it. When that happens the air doesn't compress like oil and you show less oil pressure and the lifters start getting soft. They usually but not always start clicking as well.
