200hp Johnson 2005

I am considering purchasing a new 2005 CC Sea Pro with a 200hp Johnson 4 stroke and would like to hear from anyone who either owns one, worked on them, etc.<br /><br />Any/all comments appreciated!

The 200 Johnson 4 sroke is a good motor, it's a Suzuki with a Johnson sticker on it, and the Suzuki 4 strokes are very good engines, if you like 4 strokes, many people don't, myself included.

Mostly just personal opinion, but for starters, they weigh more, have about 3 times as many moving parts, need more maintenance, and don't provide the torque of a 2 stroke, unless they are supercharged and then the weight goes up even more. Not to mention what happens if a t-belt gives out at 5500 RPM, or what can happen to valves at that RPM, seen tons of burnt valves on I/O's and just have it stuck in my head. But like I said it's mostly personal opinion, kinda likethe Chevy - Ford thing.
