Hello - Im a new member here hoping to find some answers to the problem I am having. I have a 90 HP Mercury EFI with low hours (use in 2 months each summer) that is having issues with stalling. The issues are below:
1) The engine starts fine cold or hot but when shifting into reverse without giving much throttle, the engine stalls - but will start again and idle fine. You need to shift it into reverse and rev it a bit for it to stay running. The same condition doesnt exist when going from neutral to forward.
2) The engine stalls when shifting from forward to neutral (either after WOT or just cruising speed). Makes it very hard to dock.
Ive read about the IAC, FSM, FSM line, gas line from tank delaminating, fuel filters, etc. I just dont know where to start. Does anyone have any recommendations on how I should troubleshoot this issue? Im very handy but dont know outboards so I need advice. Thanks in advance.
