2009 Chaparral 256 SSX Stereo Problem

I have a 256 open bow and this weekend the stereo stopped working. Let me clarify; the module at the helm turns on and the stereo in the head turns on but no sound comes out of the speakers. Apparently there is a stock amp under the passenger front seat and it just beeps at me. I opened the engine hatch and noticed 4 wires which apparently came off the distribution block mounted on the stern; one of the wires the C clamp is broken off. I'm assuming this is the issue. Does anyone have any thoughts or more importantly a wiring diagram for the 2009 for the rear distribution block and stereo?

Cedric, go ask this question at the Chaparral factory owners forum site. They are all very helpful. I can't imagine how the wires came off like you describe. The details such as wiring is one of Chaps strong points.

Thanks...I tried that today and still waiting for an answer from them. I couldn't believe it either but on the back power distribution block there is one screw missing and 4 wires lying about the bottom of the hull. One wire's C clamp looks like it was so corroded it broke. Hard to believe since this is a one year old boat

Hey All...I did some more troubleshooting this weekend on the amp. There was a blown fuse on the amp and as soon as a replace it the fuse pops.

Any suggestions? I contacted Chaparral last week and they have yet to reply to my request.

Hey ...for anyone who is interested I found the problem. There is an amplifier located under the port front seat. Seems as though it is easy for water to get in there and it ended up killing the amp. I'd suggest anyone who has this boat be careful when washing the inside front of the boat and frequently inspect the amp for potential water damage.
