2008 Yamaha F115tlr ground wire location?

does anyone know if there’s a ground cable that runs from the battery to the engine block? I recently changed my battery and noticed that all ground wires going to the battery are no bigger then 16ga. Shouldn’t I have a heavy gauge ground going to the engine block? I’m currently experiencing a no crank and no tilt issue that appeared after letting it sit for some time. I plan on going through and cleaning and tightening all connections before doing anything else. Thanks for your help

You have to have one somewhere, usually paired with the red 12v power wire. Cranking amperage is a couple hundred amps even on a 100 hp engine and a 16 gauge won't hack it. It and the red wire will be the same diameter/AWG.
