2008 Yamaha F115 Lift Ring

New to the forum so I apologize if this question has been covered in the past. I'm adding a jack plate to my boat and have been trying to find information on lift ring for the motor. One person has told me I can use the two rings that are attached, one in front of the flywheel and the other behind it. Another has said I need to buy a kit that consists of an eye bolt, plate and 3 bolts that fasten on top of the flywheel.

Can I use the two already attached rings (not sure they can lift entire motor) or do I need to buy the lift kit, has anyone done this type of work on an F115, thanks.

yes, you can use the "factory" installed lifting rings to lift the engine vertically. or you can spend more $$$ and purchase an "after market" kit which will result in the same thing,...being able to lift the engine
