Howdy...I recently bought a used 2008 Suntracker 19' pontoon boat with a 2008 Mercury 50hp. The outboard runs fine at steady cruising speeds. However when taking the motor back to idle, it stalls. It does restart very easy when I put it in neutral and push the throttle forward a little.
The boat is a little on the under-used side through its life before we bought it and it probably sat for 6 months before we bought it. There is 89 octane fuel in the tank and I had added a fuel cleaner.
It might or might not be related, but I observed that if we are crusing at about 3500 rpm's and I increase the speed, there is a little lul before the acceleration.
Model #: 1050412FD / Serial #: 1B711195
Before taking this to a dealer or repair shop, is there anything I can do to fix, eliminate or diagnose the issue?
Thanks!
