I periodically use a stiff wire, 18 gauge, and push through that tell tale hole because dirt & debris can very well clog. However, if that didn't clear it up, then assume it's impeller related. When was the last time it was changed? And, how are you confirming it's not over heating, by gauge or a thermometer on the head?
