Hi Everyone,
I have an 07 Yamaha F115TXR with 385hrs that has developed a problem where it will fall flat on its face after running at high RPM. One day during hot weather it started to die mid-range RPM as well. I dug into the fuel system and did find some water in the fuel seperator so swapped that out along with the canister filter. I also replaced the primer bulb and low pressure pump since those were on the maintenance list as well.

Took the boat out over the weekend and it ran fine at idle and mid-range but after a short time at WOT it fell flat on its face again. Inspected the fuel line which appeared fine but is next on my hit list. One oddity was when pumping the bulb I occassionally here a 'whoosh' or sneezing noise coming from around the fuel/water sep. Checked all the connections and primed the filter. Definitely a bit suspicious of air...

Any thoughts? Should I have drained the VST as well? Thanks in advance for any suggestions and please feel free to ask more questions if needed.

Removed old gasket from filter housing?
Lubricated gasket before assembly?
How old are the fuel lines?

The ends of the hose where they fit over the nipple(s) tends to dry out, get hard overtime and leak. Remove, cut off and inch or two of hose and reassemble

Thanks dingbat for the reply. Which gasket are you referencing - at the separator or under-cowl filter? Didn’t notice gaskets on either. I’m replacing the fuel lines from separator to outboard once I get the hose.
