I am about to purchase a new 22 Footer. The boat has a new 2007 150 Yamaha 4-Stroke on it. Any feed back on this motors reliability?

Re: 2007 Yamaha 150 4-Stroke?

Can't speak for long term reliability as my F150 only has about 30 hrs, but I do know it's the smoothest, best idling, and quietest of the 4 outboards I've owned. From everything I've heard about Yamaha 4-strokes, their right at the top for reliability and longivity. Seems like a lot of boat for a 150 though.

150HP on a 22' sounds under powered to me. What is the Max HP for the boat?

The boat is a 22 foot Nautic Bay. It is rated up to a 250 HP. The dealer says a 150 pushes the boat to 51 MPH. I'm starting to have my douts.

Might I suggest using the search feature?

We get dozens of questions like this weekly, thus you will have a tougher time getting much of a response from the more senior folks on the boards- there is a gold mine of info on that engine already posted...

As yes, it is a great motor.... Good luck!
