2007 Tohatsu 6hp 4 stroke PROBLEMS

Hello,

I have a no spark situation on my 6 hour old Tohatsu. Besides the "all in one" CD unit/Coil, does anyone have any other areas I should look into.
The plug is fine. The Stop Switch is fine. I believe the Digital CD unit might be shot.

Anyone else having a similiar problem?
Could this be a timing issue? How does one check the timing on a non-running motor?

Ant thoughts?

Motor should be under warranty, take it to a dealer and let them fix it for you. If you start messing with it they will probably tell you that you have voided the warranty.

I am asking for mechanical advise, not warranty advice,,,, yes, yes ,,, yes,, yes,,, I know it's under " warranty " great,wonderfull,,,, that means 4 weeks in the shop, and no more summer,,,, I am willing to mess with it,,,,,,

Does anyone have suggestions?

i would buy a service manual over the internet


About the only thing you can fix your self would be something with the lanyard stoping spark

Why are even bothering to ask for help, sounds like you know it all already. Follow Tommays advise and buy a book.

Anything in the engines electrical system can cause a no spark problem and no one else in the country is having a similar problem. It can't be timing.

Trying to figure out if it is anything other than the Cd unit. I will call you Wednesday, to order the part.
