I was winterizing my DF90 today, changed oil and filter, lower unit oil, water passage anodes(2), and ran in barrel with boat rv antifreeze diluted. I squeezed the water coolant hose that ran to the thermostat and that is when the trouble began, the outboard seemed to misfire or stumble. I wanted to check that the thermostat was open and when I squeezed the hose it pulled a slight vacumn and did not run good, 1 minute later a buzzer went off and the motor shut down. It will not restart and I am getting a 2-4 or a 4-2 code. I have a factory service manual and it says the 2-4 is the CMP or camshaft sensor and the 4-2 is the CKP or crankshaft sensor but I don't think they are bad motor has always run great has 64 hours on the clock. I believe the suction from me squeezing the cooling hose triggered this problem and the FACTORY manual does not state how to reset these alarms anywhere I can see.(just how to reset oil change reminder) I really want to correct this problem now before she is put to bed for the winter. I can't even eat tonight im so upset. I have used the search function but didn't find anything in the 302 returns for suzuki and signal. Any help is appreciated. Thanks,

If your squeezing the hose of the coolant line caused this problem then maybe a bad head gasket? Perhaps when you replaced the anodes you might have loosened a connector? Check your CMP and CKP connector, unplug and then replug. When you restart the engine it may take a minute for the ecm to get a good reading before it will clear the code. I'm pretty sure the engine will clear the codes unless the sensor is disconnected or in fact there is some issue. If you have bad fuel or anti freeze in a cylinder it could cause a misfire triggering a code. Check the simple things first!!! good luck!!!
