2007 mercury 40 bigfoot serial number

I own a 2007 mercury 40 bigfoot 4 cyc 4stroke efi. Serial number that is on the transom is gone. Is there any other spot on the engine that has the serial number? I'm trying to buy parts and the first thing they ask is serial number. Can someone provide me the correct Part number for water pump/impeller kit

There may be a round disc somewhere on the block. If it has not been changed it should have the serial number on it.I am not sure were it is on that motor, but someone else here might.

If the serial # is considered so important you would think the factories should be forced to put it on in some permanent way.-----------These plastic / vynil decals fade away / fall off / get painted over all the time.

Parts lady at bass pro shop could not help me without the serial. I had to bring my old impeller for them to part match my impeller. Since they rely so much on the serial number it should be stamp or riveted on the motor on couple of location.
