2007 Alumacraft Classic 165cs Bilge Pump Question

Hi Everyone!
New to the forum, so please forgive me if this was posted elsewhere...haven't figured out how to search in this forum only yet.
We just bought this boat (not new to boating, just this brand) and cannot hear the bilge pump making any noise. Fuses all good, so sure the pump just needs to be changed out or a wire has come loose. But does anyone happen to know where the pump is normally housed? We removed the enclosure where the rear fishing pedestal seat mounts in front of the transom center and could only find what we believe is the pump for the live well.
I'm sure we'll find it eventually, but those "hidden cubbies" are a bit of a pain and we don't want to tear it up right off the bat. Was hoping there was information on locations in the boat owner's manual, but it's too generic. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Well....its gonna be right behind the transom for sure, but they can be small and well hidden. Test the one you see and see if it works and has power to it. Livewell pumps suck water thru transom right where they mount, but bilge pumps have a drain line that runs above the waterline. Happy hunting...

follow the discharge to the pump. the discharge will be the thru-hull just below the rubrail

We tried that yesterday. Removed the panel covering the corner where the discharge is and the hose just disappears behind a mountain of styrofoam. Removed a chair mounting base in that corner too and nothing but foam. Gonna call Alumacraft today to see if they can tell us where it is supposed to be. From what we can tell so far, if one is even there, it may be buried under the deck plate just before the transom steps up for the rear fishing chair pole mount (gear cabling/live well pump are underneath that step up.) Can't imagine putting a $35 part that needs to be checked/serviced regularly somewhere that would require tearing the whole boat apart to get to it. But who knows what previous owners did back there.

Don't be surorised if it isn't buried down under the foam as I am sure the foam was probably added after the pump was installed

Can't imagine putting a $35 part that needs to be checked/serviced regularly somewhere that would require tearing the whole boat apart to get to it. But who knows what previous owners did back there.

its probably done by the factory like that. bilge pumps on I/O boats are under the oil pan and require the motor to be removed to service.

Well, our local Alumacraft dealer's mechanic suggested it could be buried under the foam too by the manufacturer. My thinking is ANY manufacturer that would try something like that on a serviceable part would get shamed out of business in their first year. Just sayin'.
So we had given up and were running pull string through various areas to just abandon the old one where ever it was and put in a new pump & electric. Then voila, as Airshot mentioned, it was small and hidden exactly where you'd expect it in the center rear transom compartment in the same area as the live well pump. The part facing us was completely black so we didn't catch it before with a flashlight. Only hands feeling around found it by mistake looking for a cable path. DOH!! Plus since this boat was pampered in a garage by the last owner, it hadn't even seen a rainfall to empty in the last 3 years....pump had just dried out sitting there unused, so of course we couldn't hear it. A little flushing, oil, and screen cleaning...and our fill test had water coming out the side as intended. Problem solved. It now has a piece of neon tape (and its wiring) on it too so we can see it easier in the future. Sorry for the trouble guys...but thank you!

If manufacturers were held responsible for their stupid assembly techniques, there wouldn't be any mfgrs left !! They all do it, fastest assembly saves the most money ! In some cases, they bank on being able to charge more for repairs....
