Help, my 90 merc has idling issues and surges thru out the RPM range, with poor performance, cleaned carbs, nothing changed, pulled spark plugs and there is moisture on all three, where does this moisture come from?. I'm feeling this is the problem. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

This model 90 has no head gasket. Any thoughts
Keith…honestly…I’d try running it off a know tank (remote small outboard tank) of fresh fuel and see what happens. I honestly can’t see where any water would come from, other than the fuel intake…if it was coming from anywhere else on that particular engine…it would be serious bad news and likely hardly or not run at all. Just my thoughts on it. You’ll know yourself…many guys time and time again, dismiss fuel as being the issue, perhaps after suspecting they might have a gallon or two of suspect fuel…they throw many many gallons of fresh fuel in on top of that…thinking that will do the trick…but the reality is…half or more of the time, all that’s doing is just making more bad or contaminated fuel. Won’t lie…sometimes you get away with it. But just your luck. If there is any doubt on this thinking at all…between you and I…just ditch the whole lot…especially if she runs well off a remote tank. By pass the fuel filter with the remote tank too…will definitely tell you what’s going on, if nothing else. All the best.

Keith, my curiosity is killing me regarding "no head gasket". Do you have the model number handy?
