I have a 2007 four winns with a 5.0 Volvo that the Trim was working great yesterday. We get to the lake today and trim will not work. Checked wiring, relays and fuses they all seem OK. Battery is fully charged. I get clicking sound at the relays but that is all. Does anyone have further troubleshooting ideas?

There is a 10 amp blade fuse connected to the trim pump motor that is above the reservoir. It isn't easy to see. Look for a black plastic housing a little bigger than a standard automotive fuse. I know first hand that when it is blown, all you'll hear is a click, because mine blew yesterday.

Thanks for the input. Tried to find the fuse you were revering to. I have the trim pump and reservoir on the outside of the hull by the outdrive. I can chase the two main wires till they thread to the hull. Should i try pulling the trim motor next ?

What is the full model number of your engine. An no, don't pull the trim pump off the boat until you check some things.

Model number is 4012208492. Thanks

No, that's the serial number. The model number is 5.0GXi-G

I'll get back later with some further info.

All numbers from picture below.
Battery switch ON, ignition switch OFF.
Remove relays R1 ans R2.
With a volt meter measure between terminals 87a (ground) and 87 (power) you should see battery voltage from both.
If not, move the ground test lead and touch a good clean engine ground.
If you still have no voltage, check the power in and out at the circuit breaker (M2 in the picture)

Re: 2007 5.0 Volvo Penta trim doesnt work

I am lost here. Checked voltage. It is good across both relays and M2. I unhooked the larger coupler leading to the trim motor with the blue/white and green/white wires. I have voltage when the switch is acctivated on the relay side. I then tried to use jumper wires from the battery to the motor side and I get nothing. Is there another fuse between this coupler and the motor? Could the motor have went bad? Or am I missing something? Any help would be appreciated.

Could the motor have went bad?

Yes

When you can hook the motor directly to the battery and it doesn't work, it's dead.
