2007 496 Mag Mercruiser

I found the diagnostic connector for the ecm diagnostics; but I need to know what type of scanner to use to retrieve codes? Or type of connector? I found a 4 pin flat connector that said diagnostic. I have an obd scanner and the old style scanner (snapon). I don't have that 4-pin type of connector to do the diagnostics. I need to know how to retrieve the codes from it. Thanks for your help

I know your boat is a Baja, but you will get a better response if you put this question in the Mercruiser forum as that component is the one in which you have your question.
