Serial number of Merc 1C032372
New injectors, new voltage regulator, new harness, fuel filters, and the 10 micron external filter, Spark plug cables etc. So far $2,366 in repairs and still have a shaky idle and missing sounds up through around 7 mph. Otherwise over that speed it runs fine.
I used to be able to troll around 2 mph for years but can't do that any more. Tach jumps around below 7 mph too.
Left it off at a certified merc repair shop two months ago but they never got a chance to look at it and now they are tied up for another few weeks getting customers boats launched. said another 2-3 weeks out for repairs.
Anyone know of a qualified shop in the Albany NY region (I'm willing to trailer it most anywhere to a qualified repair shop).
Any suggestions would be appreciated to steer me out of this dilemma.
Even if I were to buy a new 2020 40 hp Merc (to me a 13 year old Merc is still a relatively new outboard) But I still have to get this issue corrected, if I were to re-sell this one. Which after my repairs would get me close to break even.
I made a vid a few days ago of how the tach jumps around under 7 mph.
Thx Paul
