I have been having trouble with the boat this season. It starts idles good and runs good but then after a while (40 mins). I can turn it off and then it has trouble restarting. I can wait a little while(5 to 10 mins) and then it will start.I was checking the fuel water separator yesterday and it was loose like i could turn it with my fingers easily without force. will a loose fuel water separator cause these symptoms?

I installed it but I guess I didn’t tighten it enough... I usually tighten it by hand as tight as I can get it.

TKS works great.... it hisses as soon as I start it and stops about 15mins later.

Sounds like it was installed correctly and is working as required.

When it won't start, do you see any fuel dripping down the throat of the carb?

I thought maybe it was sucking air because when it would not start I would have to go to WOT for it to start. Now today I went out and tried it at a small lake nearby. I ran it hard for about 40mins and turned it off. Then turned the key and it started right up.
