This problem began in the first 6 months of use. Have had Mercury shops work on it 4 different times and engine works ok for shorter and shorter intervals after each servicing, usually within a week or a few days (usually 2-4 hrs run time) the problem recurs and if not serviced engine only runs at idle. The initial solution was replacing oil sending unit, then "tune-ups". I am frustrated with Mercury service being unable to solve problem. Any ideas of what problem could be and what to try?
