2006 Yamaha 70. Won’t start

the boat sat for about 2 yrs It hit before I drained and cleaned the fuel tank. Cleaned the carbs. New fuel. New plugs now when I try it will crank but won’t hit. Even with starter fluid. But every once in awhile it will try to hit right when I turn key off. Anyone have any ideas

So basically, you hear something happen (other than cranking) as you move the key to the OFF position? Sounds like a problem with the ignition switch. When you turn the key to the ON position (without cranking it), do your gauges do anything? Also, try trimming the engine up and down while cranking it and see if it starts. Do you know what your control box model is? Take a pic if you're not sure.
