I have a 25 Hp 2 stroke Yamaha outboard, with a prop on it. I have it on a 12 ft zodiac mark 2c. I also have a jet attachment that should replace the prop, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to install it.

Taking the prop leg off is fairly simple, 4 bolts that thread up into the leg and then disconnect the shift linkage. However, when I go to install the jet leg, it looks like a different setup. There is a plastic spacer thing on the top, and the bolts go down through that into the lower leg. I don't see any spots for to bolt the lower leg up into the upper part of the leg. It also doesn't seem to raise high enough into the upper leg. When I push the drive shaft up and seat it, there still seems to be a couple inch gap before it seats together? Is there something obvious I am missing?

I do also have a transom extender that I can put on to get the jet to the right height once I figure this out. I

I can get some pictures to show you what I mean if needed.

Thanks,

Yep post pics for clarification. Is that an original Yam Jet drive kit or some form of adaptation of a non Yam one ?

If you think that with a Jet conversion the boat will perform as a traditional jet-ski the answer is no, can't prop right the internal prop compared to any outboard which can go for a prop maximization to run to their max wot rpm range factory stated.

Happy Boating
