2006 VS. 2007 115hp merc 4 stroke

I bought a 2006 mercury 115 4 stroke and I have been trying to figure out the WOT rpm I went to mercs website and the 2007' say 58-6400 every merc mechanic I talk to says that nothing was change from 2006-2007 and they should be the exact same but then I found on the ID plate on mine that says max rpm 6000 did merc just up the rpm spec on the exact same motor or did something change that these mechanics dont know about.

you will rarely get a boat, motor and prop, to hit exactly 6000 rpms, at wot. that is the reason for the range, they can easily run 500 above the recommended rpm, it called CYA, by merc. different props / different rpms

There were many changes from 2006 to 2007...
