I'm new to this forum, so hopefully someone can help me out. I dissembled my carb and throttel linkage to dip, clean and rebuild my carb with new gaskets o-rings, etc. I failed to take note of how the linkage came apart (DUH!) and the schematic in the online parts guide for this engine doesn't show the proper order to re-assemble this area of the carb. Can anyone point me to a link to view the blown up view of this assembly? Any help would be much appreciated.

Happy New Year to everyone reading this!

Of course, you should be using your FSM as a guide: 003-21056-1 SERVICE MANUAL MFS8A3/9.8A3, $40.00. The manual is a wise investment, and is available from any dealer, including several forum members... even me.

However...

The choke link fits into the plastic clevis. The throttle rod fits into the brass adjustment slug on the throttle crank of the carb.

Depending on whether you have a remote model (electric choke) or not, the choke linkage is non-adjustable (except for bending the link rod if you have manual choke, or setting the choke solenoid hook in the correct position if electric choke).

The throttle link rod must be set with the carb at warm idle, the throttle set to minimum, and the link rod hooked onto the pin of the throttle drum. Allow a little bit of slack at the hook end (a few thousandths) and then tighten the set screw.
