i bought a new 2006 185 sport w/ the 3.0 Mercury motor and i had some engine issues. Has anyone else had similar troubles....
After about 18 hours i noticed a a hesitation in the motor while up on plane about 3,000 rpm. i took it in for the 20 hours service and was told the the carb ports were clogged and the carb had to be replaced. the carb fixed the problem and did not have any other issues for the rest of the season. i have take the boat out this year and was on plane about 3,200 rpm and totally lost all power. i was able to get to shore and brought the boat to the dealer and i found out that the head gasket was blown and 2 of four cylinders did not have compression. during removal of the sprk plugs they found that one of the spark plugs was broken on the end and upon removal of the head, it was found that the valves were collapsed. the boat only has 22 hours on it.
Is there such thing as a lemon law for boats?
