filled boat up with water and the only place it leaked is the intake for the live well which came pouring out????? Went out last weekend and did not use the live well and still water came in.

Sounds like a busted hose or loose connection on the livewell hose.

soooo what do you think my next step should be ??? thought about filling live well with water or should I just replace both intake and drain lines??? also should the intake pump leak from the inside of the boat....does that pump have a valve that goes bad????

Don't fill it up, that's probably doing more damage than good ... put the boat in the water. Paddle out a few feet from the pier, grab a flashlight and start watching all of the compartments. Look for where the water is coming from.

Welcome aboard.

If you don't need the livewell, the easy and cheap fix is to seal the inlet and drain.

Pull the screen or cover off the livewell pickup have some one hold a garden hose to it and start looking for the leak. Mines broken at the inside of the transom I never use it as a live well any way so i siliconed a plug in it. I glued it because my crew was always trying to take it out and it’s a size no one locally carries. Access to this on my boat almost requires engine removal. So its not worth it for me.

Never put water into a boat to find a leak. A good chance to crack the hull and or pop rivets while on a trailer. We no longer use livewells as designed. Just fill some large Pop bottles with water and freeze them, put the fish under them and they will stay fresher than sitting in hot summer water. If you are a tourney guy well then you need a livewell.

Livewell 101: Water enters the boat through the "inlet" in the transom. A hose connects that fitting to the pump. Another hose connects the outlet of the pump to the spray bar in the live well. A break in the system anywhere along the line will flood the hull. Either the pump has a broken housing due to freezing (if you live in that part of the country) or it simply broke, or either the inlet or outlet lines are cracked or broken. In any case, repairs must be made. If you don't intend ot use the live well cap it off at the transom as was suggested.

most boats with livewell plumbing that are 15 years old or older have broken plastic fittings. need to pull the boat apart to replace. BTDT have the tee-shirts
